I woke up this morning, and i started singing "Poor Jack" from Nightmare Before Christmas. the singing of musical numbers from the Tim Burton movie did not cease for another four hours, during which time i decided i needed to watch that movie today or i would go insane. of course, my mom had other plans for the day and we went to the mall. she didn't really want to watch it. then, still at the mall, some random woman's phone went off. it was "This is Halloween". my mom decided maybe the universe was trying to tell us something and we watched it when we get home. i feel much better now... but now i have Hairspray songs stuck in my head.

Ok, so I just über overanalyzed Envy from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. His royal androgynousness, Envy has his real form freakiness, right? Not the weird Ed/Al's half brother deal in the original TV series, but the traditional-to-the-manga creepy mass of people's souls thing. And he says the lines "Don't look at me. Don't look at this hideous form" and that turned my brain on.

Envy can shape shift. The dictionary definition of the word envy is "wanting what somebody else has". So, the whole reason Envy can shape shift is simply because he is envious of other people's forms/figures/bodies ect. because his real body is horrible and ugly and he hates it (who can blame him). And it's not his fault either. Father made his "envy". He is the embodiment of the sin and can do absolutely nothing about it. So, he give himself his adorable (well, I certainly think it is) form. He's totally ashamed of the body that Father gave him, and the whole reason he's ashamed of it is because Father made him ashamed of it because that's just the nature of envy. It's just a terrible, vicious cycle of self-hate and I can't believe that i didn't realize the whole shape shifiting thing earlier.

So pretty much that just proves my theory that the bad guys have a story too and a lot of the time they end up being more righteous than the good guys in their own way.
